Here’s an interesting new blog by an adult literacy instructor called realife by - sent to us by our good friend Wendell Dryden – whose own blog is a “must read” – as Wendell notes in his comment…. “Slowly the web begins to knit “- I like the sound of that !! Thanks Wendell
So check out realife – the author, who does not identify her//himself (yet?) says “My purpose is to have a place – this blog - where I can articulate my daily or weekly achievements, satisfactions, disappointments and certainly frustrations, in my current work of teaching adults”. It will be interesting to see how this blog develops….
Here is another interesting blog by Jeff Felix who is the Superintendent of Bonsall Union School District in Bonsall, CA. He has very generously shared his research study on the blogging in instructional practice in the K-12 classroom. On this blog you will find the full study and summary article. Although this study is focused on K-12 it contains some fascinating data on what happens when students blog and I wonder if this is an area that could/should be looked at in adult education and adult literacy??

Thanks very much for linking to my blog. I really appreciate it.
I am a ‘her’!
Before I started this blog, I looked to see what others there were, and was surprised that there don’t seem to be many. I found Wendell’s in my search – but not yours, so I will add yours to my BlogRoll.
It’s wonderful to be acknowledged as existing!!! I don’t intend to reveal TOO much about my actual identity within the blog, out of concern about how it might be received at my workplace….. I really don’t know whether my doing this might be regarded as innappropriate, and I certainly would not want to be told to ‘Stop’ it, so I figure I am better off staying a bit quiet.
I figure it’s appropriate, for the subject of the blog, to ‘let on’ that I am in an English speaking country – but not England……..Canada, New Zealand, wherever…….but I will let YOU know, HERE, that I am in Australia.
I hope we might maintain a bit of a conversation. Thanks again – very much!
